A gradient, not a colour. It starts near navy at the heel and comes up through blue toward the toe, with the edges outlined so the shape holds, and the three back dots and the sole weights left pale so they read as light on the water. The Newport 2 is the most famous putter shape there is, and I wanted it to still look exactly like one.
Navy to blue across the whole head, running heel to toe so the gradient follows the line of the blade. The cavity, the sole weights and the sightline are kept to a pale sky blue, so the parts you look at when you putt are also the lightest parts of the club. The linework along every edge is what keeps a soft gradient from going shapeless.
Every coat went on by hand, over a head stripped and prepped first, then sealed under a tour-grade clear coat. Hand-applied colour is why it looks like this, and it is also why it cannot be made twice. There is one, and this is it. It ships with the original Pistolini Plus grip and the original headcover.
Underneath the paint is the 2022 Special Select Newport 2, arguably the most famous putter head shape in the world. Milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel in the USA with a mid-milled face and no insert, it carries the flatter, narrower topline of the Special Select line, a redesigned plumbing neck with a full shaft of offset, performance-balanced tungsten sole weights for a larger sweet spot, and the soft tri-sole that sets the putter square the moment it touches the green. Mid toe flow, for a slightly arcing stroke.
Nothing that matters to the putt was touched. The face milling and the markings that identify the club are exactly as Cameron made them, so what arrives is an art piece you can put straight in the bag.
