How a commission is made

Every club is prepped, base-coated, hand-detailed by a studio artist, then sealed under a tour-grade clear coat. Prep is what makes the finish last: we scuff the surface so the base coat bonds, and mask the face before any colour is applied.

What we paint, and what we leave alone

We paint crowns, cavities, bodies, soles and flanges. We never paint the face, the grooves, or the markings that identify a club. That line is what keeps a painted club conforming and playing exactly as it did before, and it is the same line on every commission we take.

The face is masked before any colour is applied, so the milling and the insert are untouched when the club comes back to you. Anything a rules official needs to read on the head stays readable.

How long a custom paint job takes

If you would rather not post a club you are using, the studio can source the head instead and you keep yours in the bag while the build runs.

Looking after a painted club

Treat it like any other club with a finish you care about. Wipe the head with a damp cloth and dry it, keep a headcover on in the bag, and skip wire brushes and solvent cleaners on painted surfaces. The clear coat handles normal play; abrasives are what shorten a finish.
